Powers of Ten
View the Milky Way at 10 million light years from the
Earth. Then move through space towards the Earth in successive orders of

After that, begin to move from the actual size of a leaf into a microscopic world that reveals leaf cell walls, the cell nucleus, chromatin, DNA and finally, into the subatomic
universe of electrons and protons.
ArtCentric
Corvallis Arts Center.
Their mission is to nurture artistic expression and to serve the creative life
of the community in and around Corvallis, Oregon. They are best known for their
yearly Chocolate Fantasy Fundraiser, their numerous guilds (from literary to
belly dancing), and their diligent work to keep the arts alive and growing.

Labyrinths

da Vinci Days Labyrinth
A community project Suz coordinated in 1999
with cobb builder/ sculptor Kiko Denzer. Over 12,000 walked the
three-dimensional “Man in the Maze” labyrinth at the da Vinci Days festival. The festival opened with a choral performanced of “The Labyrinth”, co-written by Suz for the event, and participants added mud sculptures on the labyrinth itself as the weekend progressed. It was the perfect blend of art, science, and ancient
technology.

-a friend of mine doing excellent work raising funds for school children in Cameroon, Africa.
Old World Publications
-my friend Ted Cox wrote a fascinating book about The Toledo Incident of 1925, a little known event in Oregon history in which Japanese resident workers were run out of the small coastal logging town of Toledo, Oregon. Ted’s book chronicles every part of this event, including the successful civil rights lawsuit that ensued.

“Absolute Unplugged” at ArtCentric
On Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27, at 7:30 p.m. at ArtCentric,
700 SW Madison, join Absolute and friends for an evening of music and
fun. Absolute Unplugged features Absolute’s signature five-voice a
capella sounds along with jazzy, torch, rock, plain-old-silly
surprises featuring pianist Suzannah Doyle and bassist Kristin Latham.
Special guests The Dots, a Corvallis High School a capella ensemble,
will open both concerts.

Absolute—Robin Patterson, Micki Reaman, Shelley Willis, Julie
Williams, and Elizabeth Wyatt—believes in the power of harmony and in
music with a message. They blend vocal harmonies in performance to
weave a musical tapestry that will lift your spirit and arouse your
heart. Their music ranges from South African freedom songs to
contemporary folk music, from doo-wop to choral arrangements, from
create unique arrangements of contemporary music to original
compositions by Absolute members and other local musicians. Their
performances will take you from the familiar and silly to the poignant
and soulful.

Absolute has performed at an Amnesty International event at Oregon
State University, at OSU’s Summer Folk & Celtic Music Series, at da
Vinci Days, for the City of Corvallis’ MLK Celebration, with Jubilate!
The Women’s Choir of Corvallis, and at private house parties,
weddings, and memorial services. Absolute produced and opened a Judy
Fjell concert in Corvallis and created a commissioned program for
ArtCentric in conjunction with a 9/11 Memorial Tapestry exhibition.

Tickets for Absolute Unplugged are $10 and are available at Grass
